Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support the development, maintenance, and management of technical and business documentation for a long-term project in Raleigh, NC.

• Location: Raleigh, NC 27601 (Local NC Candidates Only)
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid
• Role Type: Long-Term Contract
• Interview: Webcam or In-Person

Key Responsibilities

• Documentation Development: Create, update, and maintain user manuals, training materials, release notes, technical specifications, and system documentation.
• Operational Support: Author and refine SOPs, installation guides, operations manuals, and business continuity/disaster recovery procedures.
• Content Review: Edit and proofread technical reports and project deliverables to ensure absolute clarity, accuracy, and adherence to formatting standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside subject matter experts, developers, and business analysts to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content.
• Version Control: Manage document repositories and ensure strict compliance with established version control standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Public Sector Experience: Must have experience working within Government/Public Sector environments.
• Technical Writing Expertise: Proven track record of drafting high-quality user guides, manuals, SOPs, and operational documentation in a professional setting.
• Audience Translation: Exceptional capability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and professional document management tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting enterprise-level IT projects and large-scale system implementations.
• Familiarity with quality assurance, testing, and change management documentation processes.
