Job Description

Location: Remote (U.S.) – Must reside in or be eligible for licensure in Virginia
Work Type: Full-Time 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift 
Travel: Occasional travel to Springfield, VA for initial onboarding/training and meetings as required
Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a TSA Public Trust background investigation

About the Opportunity

Cetechs is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Candidate Assessment and Review for Eligibility Support (CARES) program. This position provides medical record review and occupational health case management services for applicants and employees. This is not a bedside nursing role —it is a professional medical review position supporting federal occupational health operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review medical documentation for employment and fitness-for-duty determinations.
  • Evaluate Annual Medical Certification (AMC) cases.
  • Review medical examinations and supporting clinical documentation.
  • Request additional medical information from healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Document findings and recommendations in TSA systems.
  • Communicate professionally with applicants, employees, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards while managing multiple cases.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, TSA policies, and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Occupational Health
    • Employee Health
    • Case Management
    • Utilization Review
    • Medical Record Review
    • Disability Management
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent computer proficiency and ability to work in multiple electronic systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Federal healthcare experience.
  • Experience supporting government agencies.
  • Certification in Case Management (CCM) or Occupational Health Nursing (COHN).
  • Experience reviewing Fitness-for-Duty cases.

Work Environment

  • 100% Remote after onboarding.

  • Occasional travel to Springfield, Virginia.
