Naugatuck, Connecticut | Live-Out | 3-Month Placement

Start Date:  August 19

Schedule: Overnight: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 5 Nights per Week
Compensation: $35–$45 per hour

Position Overview
A young mother in Naugatuck, Connecticut is seeking a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental Newborn Care Specialist for a 3-month live-out placement. She is expecting a newborn and also has a 1-year-old at home. This is a wonderful opportunity for a compassionate, experienced caregiver who understands the unique emotional and physical demands of the newborn stage and can provide steady, reliable support to a mother navigating a challenging season of life. The ideal candidate is patient, emotionally supportive, and brings a calm and reassuring presence to the home.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive overnight newborn care, including feeding, diapering, swaddling, and soothing
• Support healthy sleep routines and implement gentle, age-appropriate soothing techniques
• Prepare, clean, and sterilize bottles and feeding supplies
• Monitor and log feeding and sleep patterns throughout the night
• Handle all aspects of infant hygiene throughout the overnight shift
• Assist with care of the 1-year-old as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery and all baby-related areas
• Complete baby laundry and light newborn-related household tasks
• Offer gentle guidance and emotional support to the mother throughout the placement
• Communicate daily updates on the newborn's feeding, sleep, and overall well-being

Requirements

• Extensive newborn and infant experience required
• Previous experience as a Newborn Care Specialist, Night Nanny, Postpartum Doula, or Infant Nanny strongly preferred
• Knowledge of newborn development and safe sleep practices
• Warm, non-judgmental, and emotionally supportive demeanor
• Able to work independently overnight
• Calm, dependable, nurturing, and professional
• CPR and First Aid Certification required
• 3–5 professional references required
