Job Summary
We are seeking an entry-level IT Support and Help Desk professional for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA. This role supports employees across office and field environments within the engineering services industry, providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, device setup, user assistance, and basic network support.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 1 to 2 years of IT support experience who wants to build a well-rounded technical foundation in desktop support, help desk operations, cybersecurity practices, hardware management, and field technology support. The environment offers exposure to a wide range of systems and users, along with supportive leadership, collaborative teamwork, and the potential to grow into a longer-term role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support for office and field employees, including troubleshooting computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, email, and user access issues.
- Set up new employee workstations, user accounts, software applications, equipment, permissions, and password resets.
- Support network connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN access, internet service, routers, switches, firewalls, and general infrastructure reliability.
- Assist with cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection, security updates, MFA, suspicious activity monitoring, and compliance-related support.
- Manage IT hardware inventory, equipment purchases, repairs, warranty claims, mobile devices, tablets, and replacement schedules.
- Support field technology needs, including tablets, GPS vehicle tracking, dash camera systems, electronic timesheets, field reporting tools, and remote jobsite connectivity.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Provide responsive help desk and desktop support for office and field employees.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, mobile device, printer, email, and connectivity issues.
- Support user account setup, password resets, permissions, software installation, and workstation configuration.
- Assist with network, cybersecurity, hardware inventory, data backup, and field technology support.
- 1 to 2 years of IT support, help desk, desktop support, or related technical support experience.
- Working knowledge of Windows computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, email systems, and common business software.
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN, internet, and basic infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with user account management, password resets, permissions, MFA, antivirus tools, and endpoint security practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain asset inventory, documentation, user guides, and IT standards.
- Comfortable supporting employees in both office and field environments.
- Strong communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting tablets, mobile devices, GPS tracking systems, dash camera systems, or field reporting platforms.
- Basic knowledge of firewalls, switches, routers, backup systems, and business continuity procedures.
- Experience coordinating with internet, phone, or technology service providers.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity insurance compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in engineering, construction, field services, or a similar operational environment.
