Role Summary:

As a Cabinet maker at Noovo, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing process, creating and assembling high-quality wooden components for our campervans. You’ll work closely with our production team to ensure that every piece meets Noovo’s high standards of craftsmanship and quality. A 'skills test' or general assessment of skill may be evaluated during the course of the interview.

Key Responsibilities:

Carpentry and Assembly:

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wooden components for campervans based on design specifications.
  • Work with various types of wood and materials, ensuring precision and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Use hand and power tools to carry out carpentry work efficiently and safely.
  • Install wood fixtures, such as cabinetry, shelves, flooring, and panels, ensuring they are securely built and aligned with the overall design.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all wooden components and finished assemblies meet Noovo’s high quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and correct any defects or issues before they affect the overall product.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment and materials are safely stored.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with the production team and Operations Director to ensure timely and high-quality completion of carpentry tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to resolve any challenges during production.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of all carpentry tools and equipment.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest carpentry techniques and industry trends to apply them in your work.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of craftsmanship.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changes in the work process.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Good time-management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Hard Skills:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of carpentry tools and equipment, including hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of carpentry materials, techniques, and best practices.
  • Understanding of safety protocols in a workshop setting.

Compensation:

  • $25.00 - $30.00 per hour  depending on experience.
