Accounts Payable / Staff Accountant

Miami, FL 33166 | Full-Time | Onsite | $24-$28/hr

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations for a busy and growing company in the distribution industry. This position will work closely with the Controller and will be responsible for accounts payable processing, invoice matching, reconciliations, and general accounting support.

Responsibilities

• Review, enter, and process invoices and purchase orders

• Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
• Process vendor payments including checks, wires, and credit cards
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation
• Assist with bank reconciliations and journal entries
• Support monthly close and general ledger activities
• Review vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items
• Assist with job costing and billing verification
• Process expense reports and internal payment requests
• Provide general administrative support to the accounting department

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Bookkeeping
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Experience with invoice processing and vendor payments
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Professional and dependable work ethic
• Experience in distribution, construction, transportation, or equipment industry is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting a Controller or Accounting Manager
• Experience with job costing or purchase orders
• Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus
